Stop the Ban Rally Reaches Soldotna

first_imgThe rally came days after the announcement that a bill from Republican Representative David Eastman of Wasilla, remains in play for the next regular session, which starts in January. The bill seeks to outlaw abortion in the state Eastman: “The rallies for choice, and having the choice to do what you want that are waiting to be born are no less inhumane than rallies in previous history.”  Charolette Vanzee stood on the ‘pro’ side: “It’s hitting home. It’s already so hard to get abortion and birth control services here.  Adding extra hoops for what? to make life harder? For what?.”  Alabama passed legislation last week making abortion and attempted abortion felony offenses, except in cases where it’s necessary in order to prevent a serious health risk to the unborn child’s mother. Legislators in Georgia, Ohio, Kentucky and Mississippi also recently passed laws banning abortion procedures after around 6 weeks into pregnancy. On the opposite corner a group of anti-abortion activists quietly gathered with signs. Rebecca Hinzberger: “I’m out here to be a voice for the voiceless and to stand up for the mothers and fathers that have been affected by poor choices that have resulted in the loss of a child. It’s a life long regret.” last_img
