The Battle Ground school board on Wednesday voted to interview all three applicants for the seat vacated by longtime member Sam Kim, who resigned April 30.The trio will be interviewed for 30 minutes each during a public board meeting that starts at 6:30 p.m. today at the CASEE-A district office board room, 11104 N.E. 149th St.The board will then go into closed session to discuss the applicants’ qualifications.It will meet again in public session at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the Battle Ground High School library, 300 W. Main St. The first order of business will be a roll-call vote to select Kim’s replacement, with swearing-in to follow immediately.The three applicants, in order of their Friday interviews:o Eric Silvey, social studies teacher and data facilitator at Skyview High School in Vancouver, who also has middle school experience. He served on the Battle Ground City Council from 1997-2001, but resigned when he moved beyond city limits.o Dominic Webber, a senior civil engineer with Kramer Gehlen and Associates in Vancouver. He previously worked for KPFF as a consulting engineer. He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in civil engineering from Portland State University, and is now a coach with Battle Ground Youth Soccer and Battle Ground Little League.
