first_img“The goal of the Forten Group is to find strategic or financial investors for its non-core subsidiaries who will be able to realize the great potential of each of these companies for the benefit of their employees, partners and other stakeholders. The exclusive advisors of the Forten Group for the sale of Atlas, Kompas and their affiliates are UMiUM and PKF”They point out in their statement from Forten’s group. By distributing materials intended for potential investors, Forten’s group has started the announced process of disinvesting companies from non-core business. The companies that annually serve about 1,2 million inbound and outbound passengers are known for the full range of services they offer (as a tour operator, travel agency and destination management company), high recognition of the two strongest brands and long-term market presence. The companies have more than 3.500 business partners and over 600 employees, while the total revenue of Atlas, Kompas and related companies in 2018 amounted to EUR 219 million.  Atlas, Kompas Ljubljana, Kompas Poreč and Kompas mreža are the regional leaders that hold more than 20 percent of the market in Croatia and Slovenia and more than 15 percent of the market share in Montenegro. In line with the strategy of focusing on business development in its core businesses – retail and wholesale, food and agriculture and the planned exit from activities that do not represent its strategic direction, Forten’s group has undertaken extensive preparations for the sale of these companies, which includes hiring advisors to lead that process.center_img The leading providers of travel services in Southeast Europe, Atlas and Kompas with related companies, Projektgradnja, a construction company from Slavonski Brod that achieves strong results in the public and private sector, and Sojara, a port terminal for loading, unloading and storing grain in Zadar, are offered for sale. Asmir Begić is one of the 10 best players of UK Premier League

first_imgAccording to the US sports magazine Bleacherreport, Asmir Begović is one of the 10 best players of the UK Premiere League, and the only goalkeeper on that list.Asmir Begović has stood out as the Premier League’s best goalkeeper this season. The Stoke City shot-stopper has been nothing less than excellent from day one. The 25-year-old Bosnian international has not missed one minute of action and has kept an impressive nine clean sheets in action between the posts.Standing 1.96 m Begović is the perfect example of the kind of goalkeeper most managers strive to create or buy. He has fantastic reflexes, is an excellent shot-stopper, is comfortable under crosses and is also extremely quick off his line.Stoke City have already begun their succession-planning regarding Begovic by buying the highly rated Jack Butland. With that in mind it would be no surprise to see Begovic play in the Champions League next season…last_img read more

Weather Eye Fair weather we enjoyed Wednesday will hold through next week

first_imgPatrick Timm is a local weather specialist. His column appears Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. Reach him at http://patricktimm.com. Wednesday was almost perfect with afternoon temperatures in the mid-60s, a little above normal. The high in Vancouver as of 5 p.m. was 66 degrees. We are getting into that time of the year when a day’s high temperature could come after 5 p.m.That northwest wind was on the windy side, too, with plenty of whitecaps on Vancouver Lake. I wouldn’t want to be out in a kayak with those waves. The Columbia River had its share of white caps, as well, but that didn’t deter the sailboats and even a couple of windsurfers. Still, I bet that water is on the chilly side. The next five days look like we’ll enjoy more fair weather, some cloudiness at times. A few of those passing clouds could drop a hit-or-miss shower early next week. Overall, think on the dry side. We have already surpassed the average rainfall for April so we could do without those raindrops, right? For us in the weather business, it will be a quiet period coming up. The first day of May will carry this weather trend forward. When I read books and stories, I always like to see some weather in the story. I am excited to watch “Avengers: Endgame” this evening (early ticket purchase), but one thing I have noticed in the series is that they usually have rather dull weather. I guess they have so much action that they don’t need any more in the way of weather. A movie in 1998, also called “The Avengers,” featured a mad scientist determined to control the world’s weather with his “weather machine.” Now that was a weatherperson’s film to see.last_img read more
