Pro-choice people who have become pro-life

first_imgLifeSiteNews 12 August 2013Let’s be honest. To truly be successful advocates for life, we can’t just spend our time “preaching to the choir.” We must step outside our comfort zone to reach those who are on the other side. This is no easy task when you’re faced with individuals who hurl obscenities, act combative or are willfully defiant. But if we’re to change hearts and minds, we must first try to understand the motives of those who are for abortion. Not all pro-abortion advocates are the same, but I believe there are five general traits that exist among this group. They are:Disconnected: They resort to a narrow viewpoint that this is only an issue of women’s rights, rather than facing the reality that there is another life at hand.Deceived: Through misguided intentions, they believe that they’re truly helping women.Disassociated: This represents those who say, “I wouldn’t do it, but it’s not my place to make the decision for someone else.”Denial: Out of selfishness, some deny responsibility and believe in sex without consequences, including pregnancy.Dehumanizing: This is an attempt to reject the humanity of the unborn child by not considering him or her to be a person. What’s common throughout these characteristics is that the perspective is narrow—they lack the vision to see the entire picture. And that’s the key. Advocates of abortion want to stay focused only on their limited talking points. When a person’s eyes are opened to the full reality of what abortion means, viewpoints can and will change. To learn how this transition succeeds, let’s take a look at some true stories of individuals who were once in favor of abortion.http://www.lifesitenews.com/news/pro-choice-people-who-have-become-pro-life-three-storieslast_img read more

Fantasy Injury Updates: Matthew Stafford, Jacoby Brissett impact Week 11 QB rankings

first_imgWEEK 11 NON-PPR RANKINGS:Quarterback | Running back | Wide receiver | Tight end | D/ST | KickerMatthew Stafford injury updateIt was a surprise to learn before Week 10 that Stafford had broken bones in his back, and now his status is in doubt going forward. Lions coach Matt Patricia said Monday that Stafford is “truly day by day, week to week.” As some would say: Aren’t we all? Jeff Driskel would continue to start if Stafford misses more time.Driskel is a clear downgrade for a Lions offense that already might be looking at J.D. McKissic as its Week 11 starting RB. Kenny Golladay will remain a starter in fantasy, but Marvin Jones and T.J. Hockenson are total boom-or-bust plays with Driskel under center (and the boom potential isn’t even that high).MORE WEEK 11:Waiver wire | FAAB planner | Trade values | Snap counts | Fantasy playoff SOS Will Jacoby Brissett play in Week 11?The Colts just lost to the Dolphins as Brian Hoyer threw three picks, so you can bet Brissett (knee) wants to be back on the field. Colts coach Frank Reich told reporters Monday that if Brissett is a full participant in practice Wednesday, he’ll play in Week 11 against the Jaguars.WEEK 11 PPR RANKINGS: Running back | Wide receiver | Tight endBrissett is probably just outside the starting tier of quarterbacks if he’s active, but he’d definitely make us feel a lot better about Zach Pascal and Eric Ebron in Week 11. We’ll know more come Wednesday. Matthew Stafford’s back looks like it will let down the Lions and his fantasy football owners again, as Detroit is being coy with any further injury details heading into Week 11. Things look better for Jacoby Brissett in Indianapolis, although the QB’s status for Week 11 isn’t yet assured. Fantasy owners really can’t afford another week where Jeff Driskel and Brian Hoyer both start in the NFL, for the sake of the starts/sits of other players on the Lions and Colts, respectively. For news on banged-up WRs Adam Thielen, A.J.
