Vignettes produced for Alaska Highway’s upcoming 75th anniversary

JOHN, B.C. — The City will be premiering four vignettes about life in the Energetic City during the construction of the iconic Alaska Highway.The Fort St. John Tourism Board completed the project in anticipation of the Alaska Highway’s 75th anniversary, in 2017. The videos that will be screened are a mixture of old photos from that point in time and interviews with current residents who were here for the construction of the highway.The North Peace Historical Society and Tourism FSJ will be speaking at the event, followed by the viewing of the short videos.- Advertisement -“I am very excited to see this project come to its fruition,” said Councillor Larry Evans.“This is a very important part of our history and I am pleased that we now have it documented.”This showing is a chance for seniors and other residents to view the vignettes before they are shared on social media. Women’s Basketball Returns to AP Top 25 Poll

first_imgThe Bulldogs received votes every week since they fell out of the top 25 Dec. 10. Earlier this season on Nov. 26, Drake, which received preseason votes, entered the poll at No. 24. It was the earliest Drake has been ranked in a season since the 2001-02 team ranked No. 24 in the Dec. 10, 2001 poll. The Drake University women’s basketball team is ranked for the first time since early December after Monday’s Associated Press’ women’s college basketball poll was announced. Drake, which is 19-5 overall and tied for first place in the Missouri Valley Conference at 11-1, is No. 24 in the latest AP Top 25 poll.
